A.L.KennedyA.L.Kennedy is the author of seven novels, as well as collections of shirt stories and works of non-fiction. She is a previous winner of the Costa Book of the Year Prize and also writes journalism and radio plays. Her work has been translated into twelve languages. She has written screen-plays and is also a stand-up comic.

Jane HarrisJane Harris writes fiction and screenplays. Her latest novel is Gillespie and I (Faber 2011). Her first novel The Observations was shortlisted for the Orange Prize for Fiction 2007. In the same year Jane was nominated for the British Book Awards Newcomer of the Year and for the Southbank/Times Breakthrough Award. |

Naomi AldermanNaomi Alderman's first novel Disobedience won the Orange Award for New Writers. Penguin published her second novel, The Lessons in April 2010. In 2007, she was named Sunday Times Young Writer of the Year, and ber of anthologies and in 2009 was shortlisted for the BBC National Short Story Award. From 2004 to 2007 Naomi was lead writer on the BAFTA-shortlisted alternate reality game Perplex. She broadcasts regularly, and writes a weekly games column for the Guardian. |

Monica Ali
Monica Ali is the author of four novels, including Brick Lane which was shortlisted for the Man Booker Prize for Fiction in 2003. She was the chair of the 2011 Asian Man Booker Prize and is a member of the Board of Trustees of English PEN.
